I did it my way
As a kid, I always had a great interest in film and decided early in life I wanted a career in film. On an amateur level, I started experimenting in live-action first and in 2006 started a professional course in live-action and animation. It was here that I learned I enjoyed making animation much more than working with the camera. I have done 2D, stop-motion and eventually 3D animation. Wanting to focus more on the 3D discipline, I started my second course in 2010 where I got an all-rounded education in VFX and 3D animation. My greatest love was always animating, so this was the discipline which I always wanted to work with during any project. After graduating, I got employed by DNEG (originally Double Negative). I became a match move artist and by 2017 a match move supervisor. During my time in match move, I still aspired to become an animator at DNEG. I got in-house training to become an animator at DNEG and was doing, voluntary outside office hours, animation shots on Thor Ragnarok, pacific rim 2 and Black Panther. In 2018 I was given the opportunity to join the DNEG TV crew as a core team animator and worked on series like Doctor Who, HBO Chernobyl and Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.
2020 was a year of change. I joined Cinesite London to help, just for a short time, on a project and by November I joined ILM London. At ILM I have already worked on some amazing VFX animations which have been furthering my skills, like Disney+ Willow, The Creator, Lif on Our Planet and more.
Today I am working at The Third Floor in previs and postvis.
